What: Front doorway of an apartment building
Where: 42nd and Brooklyn, in the U-district
When: Photos taken Thursday, August 28 at 8:45 am
Why: The Tuscan colors and matching barred windows.

We were stopped in our tracks when we noticed the tiling on the outside of an apartment building we pass by every day. While ceramic tiles in this neighborhood are not a rarity by far, we loved the subtle grey-blue coloring with little pops of yellow, and how the otherwise severe window bars were painted to match.

Oooh. So charming!
There's a unit currently for sale in this building. I went to an Open House this past weekend and can report that the interior has many gorgeous details, too! Original tile in the bathroom and living room, and original stencils on the dark wood beams in the living room.
yeah, the gardens are pretty and lush and scrumptious as well. I don't really like it's proximity to the freeway though, but I guess that's one of the things that makes the u-district appealing and/unappealing at the same time.
I love brick masonry.
I use to walk by this apartment complex everyday, and it made me smile everyday.
Like that.
