Shaw's Original Fir...
I love Anthropologie but I don't love their prices. Know of any sources with similar styles that don't wreck the bank?
Agreed. Regardless of how pretty some of their products are I just can't support Anthropologie, especially for clothing that (in my opinion) does not warrant the pricepoint.
Re: furniture I would rather buy real antiques or support a local artisan...e.g so many great artists on etsy!
Is there a reason why reclaimed wood products should cost so much, or are they just bilking their customers?
I was inspired a couple years ago by an Anthropologie dining table with a natural edge reclaimed wood top and iron base. It was selling for around $4,000. I ended up having one made with the help of wood and metal worker friends, along with local antique/salvage dealers who I bought the materials from. It's more beautiful than the inspiration piece and although it was still pricey, the money went to local businesses and craftsmen who I know. Much better!
