Your sketchbook could be one of thousands exhibited at galleries and museums across America. And after the tour, in the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, barcoded and available for public view. Anyone can participate; you, your child, or why not both in collaboration?
Here's how it works: you choose your theme and then sign up by the end of October ($25). The Sketchbook Project sends you a blank sketchbook. You pour your little sketching heart and soul into it so that you can send it back to them by the middle of next January. And, finally, your sketchbook, along with all the other participants' books, will go on tour, starting March.

Sprout Side Table
I did the sketchbook project last year and the exhibit went around to lots of cities where I knew people (which was great), but everyone said that the exhibit was so jumbled and crowded that they couldn't really enjoy it. My sister in law sent pictures from the show in Philadelphia and it really looked like a yard sale of a million tiny sketchbooks.
This is such a great idea! It really allows ANYONE to express their creativity. Now, I am thinking of submitting a sketchbook!
