7: Nah, modern razors require cartridges that are not only expensive but wasteful to the environment. Get him a classic double edged safety razor, either a nice new one like this one or a clean vintage one at a flea market/antique store/eBay etc. (You just may want to ask your barber to soak it in that blue stuff to be on the safe side, though. ;) )
Oh and a Space Pen? I think I'd rather receive another Lamy Safari or a restored Parker 51 and a nice bottle of ink. Nothing says class like a fountain pen!
Here's a shout out for #4! I LOVE my Pop phone headset/receiver, as I can actually cradle it old-school which helps with multitasking (gab on my iPhone while making dinner? Done!)
FYI it's available at so many places, so you don't have to shop at the hardcore conservative/right wing Urban Outfitters if it's not your thing. Just saying. Xo.
So here's your snarky comment of the day. I'm a baby boomer - and an early one at that. I have three computers, a Kindle, a smart phone, a facebook page, a blog, a pinterest account, I tweet, and I frequently Skype with equally decrepit friends. Your dad my be a loveable Luddite, but that doesn't make him a "classic baby boomer." I beg you, please don't generalize about 79 million people; it hurts our feelings! That said, I love Apartment Therapy.
@AngelaMary: You should have seen the first draft of this: "Old people -- they're SO lame, amIright?"
LOVE these ideas. Anything from Kiehl's or The Art of Shaving will be a hit at our house. Loving the Atlas too.
These objects (vintage, vintage-inspired, MCM, etc.), or things similar, are also likely to be found in the house tours here on AT. Do non-luddites enjoy these thing ironically or...?
@SmarterAlec - where, where?? I want to buy one for my (very much non-boomer) younger brother for his birthday. Don't want to buy from UO, though.
@battra92 - the link doesn't work, but excellent idea. i've got a hairy manfriend, who's nearing grizzly by day 3 unshaved, so the throwaways are not desirable. he has not fruit to his loins yet, so december bday/xmas present it is. thanks!
Oops! Sorry, CHARLIE26, just saw this. A quick google search should bring up a million places (overstock.com, etc) but I've seen them in a bunch of little funky gift shops all across the city as well as B&H photo. Good luck!
