Reading and managing RSS feeds can be a nightmare. Many people utilize google reader to keep their feeds and articles organized. Times takes the aggregation and presentation of news material to a whole new visual level and does so with ease.

Times is coded and maintained by a one man software design studio called AcrylicApps. When we first saw the software program we were amazed at its well designed animations and ease at reading and storing articles. The program really comes into its own if you are someone who constantly is monitoring news sources. Instead of switching between cumbersome browser tabs Times updates and categorizes your news feeds.

Times showing is beautiful interface and reading pane.

Times is designed to make it easy to separate your news sources by content type. This makes it easy to focus on what is important instead of always staring at a pop culture feed. Times also makes it easy to view content in your web browser should the need arise. The software we are discussing is for your general purpose computer, but a slick looking iPad version also exist. Unfortunately we have not had the chance to check it out but from the website and our experiences with Times on our laptop, it should be a winner.

Times has a great feature to store articles for later use or posting on social networks

Actually sitting down to read in Times is surprisingly pleasant. This is (in our opinion) due to the lack of ads and other distracting content that news sources and blogs often saddle you with. Times allows you to focus fully on the content you are reading. Sharing news is easy due to Times slick social media integration. We tested Facebook and it worked extremely well, but we cannot comment upon the twitter integration.

Our Complaints:
While we strongly recommend Times, we do have a few things to note. First Times is only for Mac OS X unfortunately leaving Windows users out in the cold. Secondly since AcrylicApps is run by one individual updates and bug fixes can be slow. We have noticed on the companies twitter feed that there were a few complaints of graphics issues, though we saw none of them on either of our test systems.

Bottom Line:
We highly recommend Times if you are news junky or or a casual reader. The slick ability to read material quickly and easily made it easier for us to concentrate and get the information we need.
