Time-Saving Tip: Buy Peeled Garlic for Your Next Dinner Party
I had a duh moment while grocery shopping for a dinner party I’ll be hosting this weekend. Poking around in the produce section of a local Korean market, I was about to grab a couple heads of garlic when I spotted a box of already-peeled garlic cloves. Why hadn’t I ever thought of this shortcut before?
I’ll be making mostly Indian food for this party and the menu calls for a lot of fresh garlic. I was mildly dreading the sticky, papery-skinned task of peeling a couple heads’ worth of garlic cloves, so $2 seems like a small price to pay for a box of garlic that is ready to go.
I know the idea of buying prepared garlic isn’t revelatory, but since I typically just peel garlic as I need it, stumbling onto this little shortcut is making my long dinner party prep list just a bit easier.
(I suppose I could have also tried this trick. Maybe next time!)
Do you ever buy peeled garlic?
