Tuesday, we posted a look at common plants in uncommonly dark hues.
Today, it's lesser known specimens with truly black beauty, like the Black Bat above.

The Black Bat is scarily beautiful...
I don't like black flowers. I guess to me flowers are cheerful and bright and although 95% of my clothes are black I prefer my flowers to be the spots of colour in my place. Somehow the photos above remind me of spooky movies.
I just bought Great Black Iris's
I started a small project of blackish flowers several years back inspired by this website :http://web.archive.org/web/20001109030300/www.gothic.net/~malice/
I wasn't able to cultivate anything terribly exotic as the weather that summer was strange.
The black pansies did great though.
Here is a site that sells seeds for a variety of black flowers.

Love that Black Bat!
Intoxicating.
Some of these are downright scary, but I do love black flowers in general. Black irises rock.
Gorgeous, all of them.
Beautiful...Does anyone know if black roses actually exist??
