Ellie's Aqua & Gray Abode

My Room

Name: Elliot Isobel
Location: New Bedford, MA

After two boys I was over the moon to find out we were finally going to have a daughter. The wait to D-day felt agonizingly long, so I threw myself into turning our small home office into her room.I knew that I wanted a warm gray base, and while I originally thought I would use yellow as a primary accent color, I was drawn over and over to bright aqua. Lots of the ideas actually came from Apartment Therapy - the CB2 pouf as ottoman, the such-a-deal chevron rug from Urban Outfitters.

Other components came together as DIY efforts. My husband made the big 'E', her bookshelf, and refinished an old (and ugly - think yellowed oak and gaudy brass hardware!) dresser that my grandmother had given us. Her crib and rocker were low-budget staples from IKEA. Most of her artwork and crib bedding came from Etsy.

It's so hard to wait for a baby, and carefully sourcing all of the little touches for her room made the time pass much faster - until now, that is. Her room is finished and I'm officially overdue! I'm dying to show her the new space, so here's hoping that she gets a move on!

Thanks, Sara!
