After two boys I was over the moon to find out we were finally going to have a daughter. The wait to D-day felt agonizingly long, so I threw myself into turning our small home office into her room.
I knew that I wanted a warm gray base, and while I originally thought I would use yellow as a primary accent color, I was drawn over and over to bright aqua. Lots of the ideas actually came from Apartment Therapy - the CB2 pouf as ottoman, the such-a-deal chevron rug from Urban Outfitters.
Other components came together as DIY efforts. My husband made the big 'E', her bookshelf, and refinished an old (and ugly - think yellowed oak and gaudy brass hardware!) dresser that my grandmother had given us. Her crib and rocker were low-budget staples from IKEA. Most of her artwork and crib bedding came from Etsy.
It's so hard to wait for a baby, and carefully sourcing all of the little touches for her room made the time pass much faster - until now, that is. Her room is finished and I'm officially overdue! I'm dying to show her the new space, so here's hoping that she gets a move on!
Thanks, Sara!

White Enamel Four-P...
I actually just said "ooooooh" out loud. I love this fresh color combo for a boy or a girl!
I love this nursery! You did a fantastic job. I just had my daughter 3 weeks ago. I hope you have a speedy delivery.
Can you tell me what color the wall paint is?
Hi!
This is Flagstone, by Martha Stewart. They mixed it into one of the low-VOC bases, though, so I don't know if that would change the color at all. They warned us it could, but it looked pretty close to me!
Thanks for all the kind words. I had submitted this awhile ago, and Ellie is now almost eight months old. She does love her room!
Love this, what a lucky little girl (and beautiful just like her Mom).
