atla-091808-moss01.jpgAs BethZ blogged, last night we attended an event at Moss on Melrose, "Christie's at Moss". Half of the store's been temporarily turned into a gallery to display part of the Bruce and Nancy Berman collection of William Eggleston photographs...

William Eggleston, one of the seminal photographers of the last 50 years, is, perhaps, solely responsible for bringing colour photography into the art mainstream. The influence of his work, which finds striking beauty in ordinary subject matter and people photographed in extraordinarily saturated colour, can be felt on photographers as diverse as Cindy Sherman and our own Gregory. The Berman collection, assembled by Rose Shoshana of the Rose Gallery in Santa Monica over many years, will be broken up and auctioned off at Christie's New York On October 13th but you can . You can see the details on all the photographs that will be offered for sale at Christie's here. See 22 of them at Moss, located at 8444 Melrose, near La Cienaga, this weekend. You might also want to check out John Lautner at The Hammer Museum which is closing in few weeks. For more events, check our
