Q: I have a low back, rolling Herman Miller swivel chair in amazing shape, in its original butterscotch Naugahyde upholstery. I go back and forth on the color of it, and I just purchased another Herman Miller desk chair, with arms, in mint condition in a royal blue. I kind of want to keep them both, but I really don't have the need for two desk chairs. I live in Hollywood, and it should be pretty easy to find someone who can recover this chair in a nice leather in my color choice, so I'm toying with the idea of reupholstering the butterscotch chair and changing the base on my new chair. Or should I just sell the butterscotch chair, because it would be wrong to recover a fine antique piece like this that doesn't really need it, just because of color? Anyway, I'm looking for any good feedback or suggestions.
