Even if gluten doesn't agree with you, Michael Sheafe's retro toasters surely will. For the past dozen years, Sheafe has collected and painstakingly restored a variety of small kitchen appliances, primarily toasters, dating as far back as 1910.
Sold under the company name Toaster Central, the pieces are available both online and in New York City at the weekend GreenFlea market on Columbus Avenue. In addition to its trademark toasters, the company also sells restored waffle irons, grinders and other small kitchen props.
Not only are the products functional and, by virtue of their vintage character, green, but also gorgeous. They work as quirky, little art objects to display in the kitchen. In fact, if I never have white bread again, I'd still happily display one of Sheafe's pieces on my kitchen counter, signaling a peaceful meeting ground between me and wheat.

Nomade Express Slee...
What an odd reference to celiac's disease... There are plenty of gluten-free bread—and toast—options out there.
That's a pretty insensitive title. It's as bad as "So simple even a [not even going to say it] could do it."
Geez.
Besides that, tamingthetart is right, there are many carb options for people who suffer from gluten intolerance.
Well I have a condition call Celiac Spru, which means I cannot digest the gluten in wheat and other grains and eating it makes me sick. However, I don't "suffer" from it. It's too bad food allergies and sensitivities are labeled diseases. In any case, since I love toast and eat some kind of toast regularly, the two other posters are right--there's plenty of gluten-free bread and the like. Someone at re-Nest needs to re-think what they know about that condition called Celiac.
Why couldn't this just have been an article about cool toasters? Why make gluten free/Celiac an issue at all if this about the devices?
I am a celiac & I love these toasters. And old antique stuff in general. And I use these when I'm traveling:

Yeah, dumb title. We Celiac 'sufferers' have tons of bread options for toasting.
Get over it. It was just a joke.
I'm sure the intention was a joke, but it's an insensitive one. I mean...really. Why poke fun at someone's food allergy/intolerance?
What could have been a lovely article about a man who restores antique toasters to the beautiful images is screwed up by a title that really has no relation to the article.
