Name: Tomas (1)
Location: Chicago, IL
Color Inspiration: I wanted a combination of chocolate brown, lime green and gold as the the main colors. However, once we started putting the room together and we kept finding great objects, we kept adding color. There are no color rules in Tomas' room. There are touches of hot pink, orange, purple, cream, red, yellow... also we have a raw concrete wall so we wanted the room to feel warm. Every color is welcomed and because the main colors are still the inspiration, everything else falls into place for his non-traditional nursery.

Tip for Using Color: In my case, I do great when I start with a color foundation and then, start adding pops of color. Not everything has to be the same color or from the same color palette. Just have fun and pick objects that go with each other.
Colors Used: Benjamin Moore dark brown paint, lime green, pops of orange, red and yellow.
Thanks for your colorful entry Diana and good luck!

Love this, and how the colors stand out against the black walls. Where did you get the shelf/brackets over the closets?
Love the argyle and the bright rug! Great room!
lots of creativity going on here!
hi, thank you for your comments!!!
the shelves over the closets are from ikea http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S89870340/ you can combine 2 units with a bracket that unites them
bedding is from land of nod http://www.landofnod.com/baby-crib-bedding/kids-bedding/all-creatures-great-and-small-crib-bedding/f4157
rug is flor, several colors
I cannot remember where that light fixture is from. I know I've seen it before... would you mind sharing? Nice room!!
where is your crib from?
Love love this room! I second the question on the light fixture. And what is the wall made of behind the crib?
the lamp is an awesome design made by David Trubridge. You can see it at http://www.davidtrubridge.com/Designs/lighting/kitsets/coral/ ours is the orange one. We love it because it comes in a box that you can plant to grow a tree and during the day you don't see the orange as much and at night you almost only see the inside... plus the reflections on the room are magical. That guy is a genius!
The crib is from ikea.
The wall behind the crib is made of exposed concrete. Some of the walls in our place are just raw concrete, so the room colors for our kids rooms are warm to contrast the cold concrete walls
love this room! Would like to see more pics of the layout.
I love the picture above the crib.
I wish my parents would buy me a David Trubridge pendant for my bedroom. I love the new ones with the colored inside.
