Tomorrow is Yoga Day

There's a day to celebrate everything, we've learned, and tomorrow we'll join folks across the nation in celebrating yoga. Ah, yoga. Deep breaths, mindfulness of body and soul, and relaxation from the inside out come to mind. That and some really beautiful eco-friendly yoga mats. Here are a few reasons to celebrate with the yogis tomorrow.

We bet you've had a personal experience with yoga. Maybe your first few classes were a bust (like ours), but you stuck with it and now it's part of your daily routine. Maybe you've been meaning to try it. In any case, we aspire to be yoga practitioners for a handful of reasons:

It's green. Granted, you may want a mat to give you traction and distance from the floor, but you can choose a green mat option, but other than that you really need no supplies. The tools and props you might want (blocks and belts) are widely available in bamboo, cork, or hemp.

It encourages a connection to your environment. Yoga raises awareness on all levels. One friend told us, "Colors are brighter after I do yoga."

It can be done at home, outside, alone, or with others. Unlike some forms of physical activity, yoga is completely portable and can be done anywhere you find a flat surface.

Whether you're a yogi or a complete novice, check studios in your area: many are offering free classes tomorrow!
