I'm not a hardcore Apple fangirl, but I do get a chuckle out of Apple inspired designs, especially for housewares. While in San Jose, I spotted a couple "slide to unlock" doormats outside of apartments. Here are my five favorite Apple inspired accessories, including the funny doormat.
Slide to Unlock Doormat: One of the more clever Apple references is this doormat where you wipe or "slide" your feet. The door doesn't unlock once someone does that (thank goodness) but it's a funny little greeting for any over of geeky things. $49.90
iNecklace: This pendant necklace is made to look like the power button of a Mac. There's actually a circuit board inside with a pulsating LED to really make it look like the "breathing light" on a computer or laptop. $75
Apple Pi Macbook Decal: There are a lot of fun stickers to decorate your MacBook with. I like this one because it appeals to math and food enthusiasts too. It comes in matte white, which matches well with the lit Apple logo. You can also remove it when you want to change it up. $2.49
Giving Tree Apple Case: This handmade iPhone case fits only the iPhone 5. You can choose what type of image you want on the case, but uCaser shows an example with an illustration from one of my favorite childhood books, The Giving Tree. The scene perfectly incorporates the Apple logo. $14.99
Apple Skate Deck: This is an art piece by Haroshi, an artist who uses recycled old skateboards to make his artwork. This one is made from a rainbow of recycled skateboards, which come together to make the classic old Apple logo. I'd love to have this on my desk or as a conversation piece in the home office.
