Last year when I photographed the home of John Saint-Denis for his house tour, I immediately fell in love with his kitchen. It’s quite stunning with a presence that lingers throughout the rest of his home. When my friend (and Top Chef Just Desserts winner) Yigit Pura came to visit a couple weeks ago, we took a tour of John’s kitchen.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Wow, this is gorgeous and warm and inviting. I have a love/hate thing going with the mahogany. My parent's kitchen was dark wood, I'm living there now that they're passed away but I have a craving for white and stainless steel. His mixture is perfectly balanced and spot on. Love all the touches (silver bust and other ephemera) and contrasts (little pops of perfectly chosen color, etc.) Love the shirts matching the dark wood, too! Nice touch for the photo shoot. GREAT kitchen!
What an amazing, cool yet warm, sophisticated yet accessible, pretty yet functional, classical yet "industrial" kitchen. The lamp is SO WONDERFUL!
Awesome post!!
I think the storage above the stove is a great idea for quick access... However, do the things on it get gunky?
I think it looks great great however as someone who cooks a lot I have to stay the wooden counter tops look great but make me nervous when it comes to hot pots or sharp knives. I also would kill for a stove like that.
Absolutely gorgeous. As I remember, the rest of the home was pretty stunning to.
Can't something be done about the flood of spam we've had lately?
Too dark and cluttered for my taste, though I can appreciate it's beauty.

Love the wood backsplash, I may use that idea. Does anyone know the source of the plates with broad blue rims?
