Mixing the perfect palette can often be a challenging and intimidating endeavor, whether you're painting walls, adding accents or combining patterns. Fortunately there are some great sites out there to make the world of color a little easier to sort through.
Here are some of the top sites to help you on your color journey:
- Design Seeds finds color combo inspiration from stunning imagery and provides you with the HEX codes to match.
- Adobe Kuler is a web hosted community for generating and sharing unique color schemes.
- Chip It by Sherwin Williams lets you create a 'design seed' of your own. You upload your own image, and it gives you the color matches for your project.
- The Perfect Palette creates color combinations based on a theme and provides inspirational images for that theme.
- COLOURlovers is another online community where you can create individual palettes and connect with other color lovers from around the world.

Shaw's Original Fir...
OMG it's Sherwin, NOT Sherman
I love Design Seed. I subscribed and actually look forward to that part of my email. Looking at the color palettes is like a mini-meditation.
the perfect palette is nice, but it deals a lot with weddings. when i look for ideas to incorporate my red slipper chair, i get a bunch of christmas wedding pictures. not so helpful.
I wonder if anyone else noticed that Chip It pretty much copied the Design Seeds layout?
I love Design Seeds as well. I find the photos and colour schemes beautiful and inspiring. I gushed about it here http://designgratislondon.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/colour-me-inspired.html
I will have to check out the others.
