I usually vacuum the entire apartment floor, rugs and hardwood and then I mop the floors with this: http://www.casabella.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc??Store_code=C&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=80026_1&Category_code=3100
It is the BEST thing out there.
I do not dust furniture with a feather duster - some people love them, I feel they take the dust from the furniture, into the lower piece of furniture. I use these microfibre rags that pull dirt like I don't know what. Throw them in the washing mashine after done with dusting.
the sweepa rubber broom is one and only one tool for hardwood and tile floors, and best of all it is super cheap. no need for brooms, dust mops, lound vacuum cleaners, etc. quick, easy, safe on hard wood floors, and is virtually silent.

Quick question regarding cleaning...
Anyone know how to clean a painted radiator? Mine is gross. Seriously gross. Dusty, cobwebs, etc. I moved in while they were on, so I couldn't really touch them, so now, they are yucky and dirty.
Any suggestions on what works well or any method they use??
Thanks!
L
i cant believe that Dr. Bronners wasnt included!
L, for your radiator...you should get some Dr. Bronners peppermint oil soap and mix some up in a bucket of very hot water. with a dishbrush or a sponge, you could clean most of the gunk off of your radiator w/out harming the paint. plus, the peppermint oil in the soap will make your whole apartment smell fantastic when the heat's on!
I'm not sure whether to post this here or in the products section, however I have been using a McCullough steamer for the past four years -- all it takes is filtered water, clean cloths for wiping and it will power through just about any grime imaginable -- all without chemicals. It is also powerful enough to get into tiny crevices and blow out god knows what that gets in there-- like on the kitchen floor and floor boards and grooves on the window sill and patio door. I've used it on my windows, bathrooms, tile, kitchen, to clean appliances, get the gooey gunk off the top of microwaves and the fridge, finger prints off kitchen cabinets, soap scum out of the tub...I've also used it to clean the interior of my car and other small items. You name it, I think I've steamed it. And, steam can sterilize. It can peel paint off of wood, so you need to be careful not to get over zealous like me.
Plus, you can steam the wrinkles out of clothes and your sweaters saving water and dry cleaning.
I've been able to down grade my cleaning supplies greatly with this purchase and it has been very reliable.
