Everyone has a favorite. For us it was Mike Mulligan and his trusty steam shovel, Mary Anne. We would have loved to play with them ourselves and had Mary Anne dig cellars around our house ("in just one day"). Here are ten of our favorite children's book characters in 3-D plush form. Find out where to get them after the jump.
The Velveteen Rabbit (Margery Williams), $9.95.
Max, Where the Wild Things Are (Maurice Sendak), $25.
Monkey (and 3 caps), Caps for Sale (Esphyr Slobodkina), $10.95.
Frog and Toad, Frog and Toad series (Arnold Lobel), $16 each.
Madeline (John Bemelmans Marciano), $45.
Corduroy (Don Freeman), $18.50.
Pigeon, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! (Mo Willems), $22.99.
Harry the Dirty Dog (Gene Zion), $16.99.
The Cat in the Hat (Dr. Seuss), $19.95.

The pigeon is our very favorite. He'll look great on the bookshelf next to our collection of Mo Willems books, which everyone should read right now if they haven't already.
Madeline gets a lot of playtime in our house, because I managed to buy the 14" with a pile of clothes and trunk just as they were disappearing from shelves.
We LOVE the pigeon though, and Max too, so it is very hard to pick just one...
I would actually add to the list -- Tintin's Milou (or Snowy, in the English version)...

I second Snowy, from Tin Tin. I would also add Curious George to the list:
