Little Field of Flowers, by Tord Boontje for nanimarquina, has been around for a while, but we're still rather infatuated with it. Impractical, perhaps, for those of us who tend to drop paper clips and earrings (and who have furry yellow labs), but a gorgeous wool meadow, nonetheless.

Available in reds, greens, or greys, and in 5.5x8 or 6.5x10. $4,670-$6,860.
At Propeller.

I've been to Propeller to see a few nanimarquina rugs before, and I was pretty underwhelmed. They photograph well, but the felt is stiff, and walking on them wasn't inviting or pleasant. The felt is very stiff and not very soft.
How are they cleaned? Wouldn't a vacuum cleaner damage it since it would pull on the "strings"?
Couldn't you just make one for way less? I mean, several thousand dollars? I know how to knit, felt, and sew. I think I will make myself one in blue, white and gray for the bedroom.
