Turquoise was Pantone's color of the year for 2010 and we're not quite ready to say goodbye. We know there's a new hot color in town but that's not going to stop us from continuously bringing turquoise into our home. Fact of the matter is — it looks good all over the house!
Turquoise in the bathroom can be dark and moody — creating an elegant space perfect for some r&r in the tub. In the kitchen it can be light and airy, sunlight bouncing off of the turquoise walls and in the nursery it can be soothing and when paired with coral it can be whimsical and fun. A turquoise living room is just straight up funky and we're on board with that. If you're thinking of turquoise — here are some great inspiration pieces to get you going totally turquoise:
• Vintage Nouveau, Lonny Mag
• Turquoise Kitchen, Interior Designing Blog
• Turquoise Bathroom, Garry Mertin Design
• Vivi's Aqua and Coral Nursery, House of Turquoise
• Turquoise Living Room, Things We Heart

no way jose . I am NOT giving up my turquoise !
I don't like to have the next "in color" chosen by Pantone, then have the maufacturers follow suit. All it does is build in obsolesence and cut down on choice and creativity. We saw too much turquoise in 2010 and now we will be supposedly be seeing rasberry all this year.
I was originally inspired to paint a room blue a few years back by a couple of old movies from the 40's, not Pantone. Blue is classic.
We just painted our living room a light turquoise in September - it's staying for a while -- mainly because I <3 it dearly :)
teal is my favorite color - so bright and happy! I'll keep it forever, no matter what Pantene deems color of the year.
i love these colors. do you know what color the bathroom is? i think it would be great for a guestroom.
i am contemplating a similar turquoise as an accent wall in my bedroom.
Q. for other AT readers... do turquoise/teal and "plum" go together?... the purple/plum found here...:

i originally thought of a darker/deeper blue and similar purple/plum scheme but then teal seemed better but now im back to thinking they clash...
grace638- the bathroom is Benjamin Moore Calypso Blue... it was featured recently in Lonny Mag.
hope this helps!
Who is Pantone...? And why do they have a say in my place..?
