A few weeks ago, we took a look at the residences designed by acclaimed architect Alvar Aalto. Today, we peek inside the place where he worked, his design office, located west of Helsinki. Filled with light and making good use of many classic design pieces, it is an ideal model of a welcoming workspace; one that can provide inspiration for offices and creative spaces both home and away.
Shown above, left to right:
1. Alvar Aalto's private office is the largest space in the Atelier.
2. Architectural model and exhibition poster.
4. The drafting room at the top of the stairs — lots of natural light!
5. In the corner of the double-height room, there is a small stair and loft used to test lighting designs.
