Design: Transformer Table
Materials: Wenge (solid wood)
Designer: Quentin Kelley
"A client was trying to maximize space in her condo and wanted a piece that would function as a console table most of the time, but could also expand as a dining table for her frequent dinner parties. She was adamant about the dimensions of 12" wide as a console and 36" as a dining table, and this range of dimensions presented a real engineering challenge."
VOTING IS NOW CLOSED ON THIS ENTRY

"However, the resulting design, which is a variation on a traditional gate leg table, has proven to be a successful solution to the problem, and a completely original, innovative, and stylish piece."

Kudos on a wonderfully executed design idea!
I'd give it four stars!! **** Well done.
Brilliant!
Beautiful. Very similar in concept to an IKEA table I have (forget the name) but obviously executed in a far more artistic way -- plus the specific dimensions are special. I'd buy one!! (Assuming I had the cash, anyhow!)
(I tried clicking the link above, and got a garbage page, FYI)
Wow! I love.
This is gorgeous.
I've got a Drexel Heritage table from the 60's that is similar. I love it so much that I dread the day I have to get rid of it.
It's a fabulous looking table and a great solution to a problem, but I'd want to see how much it costs!
Agreed. I want one. Nay, I NEEEEEED one, and the link for his web site is crap. HELP HELP HELP!!!
I love this, and I would have given you a billion stars for this design if you'd also mange to make it go from dining table height to coffee table height. I've been working on a similar design for a few months now (though I never thought about legs like that, awesome) and I'm still having a problem with figuring out how to get the table to adjust for those 2 heights easily.
I'm the client....the end result far exceeded my expectations. You should see the media cabinet Quentin also designed. He's brilliant. And...a really nice guy to boot. If I had four thumbs, they would all point WAY up!
The link to infusionfurniture.com works for me.
I would LOVE one!
Link is good to infusion furniture and the website has a lot of beautiful, functional and artistic pieces. All should check it out. Nice job on the design of this piece as well... awesome to see "the client" give you FOUR THUMBS UP as well! Proof postiive of all the elements of a good design!
this is exactly what I need right now!
