What with most airlines charging for checked luggage these days, I generally try to travel with just a carry-on bag. But there's one strange thing that makes my "quart-sized bag of liquids" cut. The friends I shared an Airbnb with recently were skeptical at first, but they were believers by the end of our stay:

Yep, I totally packed Poo~Pourri in my carry-on. Here's why:

In Chicago for a wedding, two friends and I were staying in a teeny tiny Airbnb... for five nights. When you're basically on top of each other, the last thing you want to do is smell someone's business while the next person showers, or cooks, or is trying to sleep.

While I had tested it out solo in my 500 square-foot apartment, it really proved it works with three adults using the loo on the regular. And now it basically has earned a permanent place in my carry-on.

Do you have any "weird" must-have travel items?
