When we have flown, I have regularly picked up some of those Dover Sticker books and the Buki Activity books--they are small treats that are easy to carry. I also always pack pencils, colors and plain paper and stickers. My daughter, 5, packs some of her own treasures to play with too (Polly Pockets, match box cars to share with her brother, and other odds and ends that I wouldn't toss in, but ones that keep her entertained.)
