Toeing the line between interior fixture and fashion, Dutch designer Lotty Lindeman's new wall cupboard creation is a intriguing take on modular storage...
Each suitcase is custom constructed from padded fabric and wooden side panels. More on the concept from the artist:
"Interiors nowadays are presented like stills, but in fact there is a lot of mobility of objects, moving around by human needs. Tassenkast blends traveling storage with furniture. A collection of suitcases get status as a cupboard in the interior, playing on the edge of what we perceive as a fashion item and what we perceive as an interior product."
What do you think about this whimsical creation? As teachers we could totally imagine plucking a smaller "school suitcase" off the wall to go to class and hanging it back up once home — it would certainly be a wonderful remedy to our constant packing and re-packing twice a week!
