What do you get when a designer turns fallen pieces of tree limbs into adorable little wall hooks? You get the Trook
from Geoffrey Fisher Designs.
Over the weekend my friend Robin from Urban Gardens handed me a little Trook and I was intrigued by it before I even knew what it was. And what it is is a small wall hook (also available as a magnet) made from "the natural wastage produced when a tree needs to be cut back or comes to the end of its life." Due to it its natural provenance, each Trook is unique. The tag attached to my Trook explains that it came from a Poplar Tree from Stoke Golding, Leicestershire. (Side note: when I Googled Stoke Golding to make sure I was spelling it correctly, I learned that it's the birthplace of the Tudor Dynasty. Thanks for the geography/history lesson, Trook!)
Trooks are available directly from the Geoffrey Fisher Design Shop. Trooks are available in three sizes: Large 6" is £12.00, Medium 5" is £9.00 and Small 4" is £6.00.
