As a child, all I wanted to do was play in the tree house in my backyard. Whether I would play house, take naps or play with G.I. Joes (with my brother), I loved spending time in there. Unfortunately, outgrowing the tree house was bound to happen and it's no longer there. Sometimes I find myself wishing I could rewind back for just one day &mdash and play in the tree house again.
There must be a lot of people that feel that way because there are treehouse hotels located all over the world. Some offer outdoor activities included with the cost of your stay, while others pride themselves on being a little more upscale and restful.
If traditional hotels aren't your thing, or if you just want to experience a new adventure &mdash tree house hotels will certainly be something new and unique.

Would you stay in a tree house hotel?

I would love, love, LOVE to stay in one of these. I'm also lobbying my husband for building one for our daughter in our own backyard actually.
Any closer to home besides Mt. Ranier? And not so expensive maybe?
lynnebee - there are a couple in Oregon. I've never been to them though. http://www.treehouseparadise.com/ or http://treehouses.com/
I would love to live in a treehouse - but I would definitely not do it somewhere that has strong winds! I'd be afraid of getting knocked out of the tree.
Thanks for the post!
I've stayed at the Cedar Creek treehouse. It was a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Cannot recommend it enough! We're from the east coast and incorporated a couple days there into a longer visit to Seattle and Mt. Rainier.
I just love this place. If you live in the south and want a unique camping experience (that is bank account friendly!) then check it out! They even include all organic meals that they make from the garden on the property!

One of my favourite getaways was to the (now apparently closed, sadly) Forest Retreat on Salt Spring Island, that featured a one-room treehouse alongside traditional hostel dorms. It was dreamy, and absolutely perfect for the island.
LOVE THEM. Staying in/having/building one of these would be a childhood dream come true!
Nice! But if you've ever wanted to visit Sarawak, Malaysia, here's a good place to stay! It's a rainforest resort by the beach and there are some really nice treehouses to stay in. I was there once and loved it! They've also got a nice little natural pool you can swim in. Check them out!

A couple of years back, my husband and I stayed in one of the treehouses at the Sanctuary Retreat in Queensland, Australia. I can't recommend them highly enough.
