Move over geometrics, because large scale and bright flowers are taking over in a big way.
Above: think you could handle this wallpaper in your kitchen? (as seen in Holly Becker's Decorate book, via Collected Blog)

These mostly orange, hot pink and red blooms read as either New Wave Victorian, like a cross section of Frida Kahlo's closet, or the most lovingly tended psychedelic garden you've ever seen. Case in point: the Blendworth wallpaper above, as seen on House to Home.

In any case, look for huge vibrant flowers (like the Esperanza bedding by Anthropologie above, or these cushions and fabric by bluebellgray) in bedding, upholstery, wall hangings, and pillows.
Still not sure?

Maybe just this amazing collage by Anne Ten Donkelaar instead.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Well...that's interesting.
Nope nope nope.
Most of these are much too "in your face" for my taste, but I'll take a floral over a chevron any day. Geometrics have never appealed much to me.
The small touches are very pretty. I like the curtain tie-back and the white comforter with the florals to the side. But all the "in your face" florals are, as Fred B stated, "Nope, nope and nope". But then again, I've never been a floral person. I like flowers best when I see them while hiking.
I like it a lot, but mostly only for a single girl, living alone. It's such a bold decorating move that I can't imagine imposing it on a significant other or roommate.
That being said: I AM a single girl, living alone, and I just wallpapered my kitchen in peonies. And I love it.
Love that chair from The Blue House.
Hey, the eighties just called, they want their over-the-top English country floral chintz back!
I swear, that wallpaper in the kitchen picture was in my grandmother's house. Exact. Same. I'll pass.
I love the chair from The Blue House, but the rest of them make me long for stark white minimalism.
I'll pass.
Done right and I'm all in. Almost never done right though...
Reminds me of that Trading Spaces episode where Hildi glued fake flowers to the walls of the bathroom.
LOL @ crazydoglady!!!!!!!!!!
This won't last long...
This trend of industrial size scullery faucets in residential kitchens is ridiculous. Just like oversized cookers that belong in a catering kitchen, and oversized vehicles on the road, they perplex me.
That first kitchen is scary!
Photos 1 and 2 are the visual equivalent of a punch in the eye. Do not like.
Holy moly!
No. You will never find florals in my house. Ever.
yes! i love me some floral print!
Yes, the first kitchen, yes to the collage. No to all the rest.
All of this screams "grandma" to me. Even the "light" touches. No, no, no, no. I'll keep my stripes and chevron, thank you!
Really bold, loud florals have been trendy again in clothes, but it's not a trend I enjoy. It's just so 90s. Walking into an Urban Outfitters these days makes me want to watch Blossom.
It was only a matter of time until flowers came back. I'll just keep my eyes shut until they go away again.
i love it. I am sick of the notion that you set up house, and then never change it again. I could take a little of these florals contrasted with some geometric art, and other modern pieces. then when I tire of florals i'll simply change it. Many fear wallpaper, but to me its a great accent that really isn't hard to change.
Screaming! My daughter would LOVE it though. Especially bedding, throw pillows, and the chair. She is six.
I admire people like MAND@ who think of wallpaper as "a great accent that really isn't hard to change" but I find stuff like that a huge project, so maybe I'm more timid than others about putting something up that I may soon hate.
I was just thinking the other day that big, cabbage rose florals looked very fresh again, after decades of being "granny." I think the key is to steer clear of the mid-market Laura Ashley stuff, which is too sweet.
How fun! I just bought a flower power rug yesterday http://i46.tinypic.com/2958wvm.jpg
ahaha!
I'm a single girl, living alone so I can!! :))
I say YES. Most of the examples shown above are not really how I'd do it, but I do really love huge floral prints on walls and decor.
There is just so much hot pink. That much of any color that bright will always feel like an assault on the eyes, no matter what the pattern. The collage and the tiebacks, on the other hand, are very nice: varied palettes, irregular patterns, low coverage. But then, I wouldn't call those in-your-face.
I am not feeling the wallpapers (to put it mildly) but kind of love the painted floral fabrics.
What is that rug/floor mat in the first image with the red kitchen?
Finally! I've only been waiting my entire life.
I only like florals if they are big and geometric like Marimekko style.
Not for me! I can't imagine being able to sleep in a room with some of those patterns.
Winced at most of these, and I LIKE botanical stuff... but I need that collage!
awesome!! love it all!
Um...not really feeling this at all!
I didn't want to like this, but I LOVE that garish kitchen wallpaper. wow. don't know if I could live with it, but I love the look.
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.
I like collage.
I love this. Passionately. My bed is currently swathed in mismatched vintage floral linens and I adore them. More please.
What do you think? This is my dinning room, it's still unfinished. I love the florals and my husband is ok with them!

@xlilx - It looks great! Really subtle and clean.
I dig that first kitchen and bedroom. Love the bold stuff. The collage is pretty but too safe for me.
XLILX, love the floral chairs. What color are your walls going to be? Looking forward to seeing more photos. :)
I love that kitchen, except for the wall paper haha. I'm not a fan of any of these except for the 12th pic (Design Sponge). I like the bed spread and pillows.
