Trend Report: Fashion Tailored Furniture

Stockholm Furniture Fair 2012

Pin it button big

While this trend of adding tailoring or clothing motifs to furnishings is not "new-new" (as Scott Pilgrim would say), I did see much more of it across the board at the Stockholm Fair, so it may be on the rise as a detail to watch out for. From buttons and skirts to zippers and belts, here are some examples I snapped at the show to give you an idea of how furniture is getting all dressed up - in Scandinavia and beyond:

Shown above:

1. Garsnas (a chair with cuffs!)
2. Kallemo

4. Gemla
5. Coupe by Laufer & Keichel

6. Mats Theselius
7. Farg & Blanche
8. Garsnas
9. Ire (reminded me of those elbow patches on tweed jackets)
10. Anna Kraitz
