Maison & Objet is much more than just a cutting edge furniture show (like ICFF) - it also combines lots of housewares, bed and bath and decor items (think Home & Housewares meets NYIGF). One of the trends I spotted in the more "home goods" based sections of the show was a move toward gradient based color stories; both in multiple items in gradients of a color family being place together or through stripes...

It's a nice way to think about color and add depth and interest to your room without expanding your palette to additional individual colors.
