It's not a surprise that this look is coming back now. It incorporates a combo of some of what is bubbling under the surface, style-zeitgeist-wise. These reactive glaze pottery-style tabletop pieces combine a bit of hippie-chic, a look at California modernism of the sixties and seventies, a little bit of Asian-inspiration, a touch of maker-style.
We saw examples of the reactive look from several different lines, in a range of commitments to the look from big and bold to just a subtle hint of pattern.

Um, maybe reorient the photos?
If this look appeals to you, why not just buy vintage tableware?
There's enough still out there....
Oh please no. Let's not encourage this trend.
I've been buying cooler stuff at Goodwill for years.
Does anyone know what the lead content, if any, is in the glazes?
Dear me no! I grew up with these in the kitchen. Kill this trend! With fire!
LOVE. Agree with Rosecraft though and I'm going the vintage route. It's just more fun. Started snatching up a vintage Franciscan pattern a year ago. Love their Sundance pattern. Also love Casual Ceram Japan Regency pattern.
