Torn between two (vastly different) colors for your room? Why decide?
I find myself drawn to these images, where homeowners have created a beautiful, visually arresting look by pairing two dissimilar colors on the same wall. Besides just adding interest, you can use this effect to play with the proportions of a room. Painting the top few feet of the wall the same color as the ceiling will visually shorten a room, making a large room feel cozier; painting the top of the wall in a contrasting color will draw the eye upward.

I had two toned walls in my old apartment. LOVED the look. I wish I could paint my current apartment...

I really dig photo 1, 2 and 4.
Wow, photo 4 looks like a nice place to wake up. I'm not sure it has anything to do with the purported 2-toned-ness (because I'm not sure that one even should count -- I think it's a pretty traditional jewel-box style paint job), but so simple and pretty.
Photo 2 has been in my inspiration file since i first saw it! Love it...
