Looking at arrows like these always seems to bring us right back to summer camp in the Sierra woods. Like the ever-popular antlers, they have the potential to give a room an earthy, nostalgic feel, an appealing contrast to a sleek, modern aesthetic. Some of our favorite trendsetting bloggers—at The Estate of Things, Poppytalk, and Making it Lovely (whose vase of arrows is the top photo above)—have shared the idea in recent months. Do we detect a motif that will soon emerge on throw pillows and tote bags?
If you want to get a hold of some vintage arrows of your own, Etsy and ebay are good bets. Sweetshorn Vintage has sets of six arrows for $40 (as well as some other super-fun vintage finds!), and Hello Victory's Etsy shop has them individually for $8 apiece. Search "vintage arrows" on ebay and come up with a few more options... we saw a pretty honey-colored cedar set of 23 that was bidding at about $15-$20.
On the fancier, more collectible end, Three Potato Four has a complete antique archery set (fifth photo), with a hand-painted metal case and a set of beautiful arrows, for $185.

I used to have an old arrow (probably still do in a box in my parents' attic) that I had proudly displayed in my room. It was from summer camp when I shot a bull's eye. While I loved that one (and the idea), it would seem silly to buy some to follow a 'trend' when the one I used to have actually had meaning. New ones (vintage or not) would seem a bid empty in comparison.
I don't get it, but to each their own.

I guess each new trend tries to be as hard to clean as possible. Hello clutter !
I'd rather it be arrows than antlers.
I'm not a fan of displays of weapons of any sort. The imagery that they evoke is just not appealing.
I think it's cute. I'm not running out to buy arrows (or antlers for that matter), but I have no probelm with it. If someone gave me a quiver of arrows to display in my living room I would probably find a spot for them.
Maybe people reject this idea simply because it's labeled on this post as a "trend"?
I also don't see any problem displaying weapons or taxidermy. Just my opinion.

Well, now I know what to do with the full set of bow and arrows I inherited from my father. He got them from a native South American after shooting a documentary in the jungle in Colombia. I've got them stored in the garage!
I grew up with them on the wall, my father used to joke that they were to be used in case of emergencies only... like boys coming around for his daughters.
One more trendoid that won't see the interior of my home...

Wow, I'm surprised that this many people think this idea is a flat "no".
The arrows are a spin on using feathers or putting something in a vase that contributes color but doesn't croak. I think they are pretty charming but certainly not for all. I suppose they could be considered kitschy.
