The feather trend is gaining momentum and I must say I am a fan. They add whimsy and an organic touch to any space they come across. I first noticed the feather movement develop in accessory design. It was a beautiful pair of bohemian feather earrings that caught my eye and inspired me to write this post.

Today feather motifs can be spotted in all sorts of applications. I was amazed to find feather floor tiles as well as patterned feather wallpaper. One of my favorite "moments" in most any room is a touch of a feather on display. It shows attention to detail and a collectors spirit.

My most prized possession in fact is a bundle of teal colored feathers with black stripes. They appeared one day in my mother’s garage and I scooped them up as fast as I could. Now they sit in a little quirky jar on my nightstand. The feathers remind me that it is the simple moments in life that make me the happiest. A final note: I prefer to collect my own feathers rather than pluck them. I hope you would follow the same guidelines as well!
