If you caught our tour of the Marimekko factory, then you know what we're talking about. Oversized prints are making their way into all of the catalogs this year, and they're adding bold statements to rooms of every style.
Oversized patterns started making a comeback in 2009, when patterned drapes went from being a fad of the 70's to 70's revival chic, and then slowly made their way onto beadspreads and tableware. In 2010, wallpaper caught onto the trend with removable decals, and now they're on throw pillows, teapots, furniture, tablecloths, and even carpets.

White Enamel Flatwa...
I'm a big fan. There is a sense of calm about some of them and they let your eye rest with the white space.
Finally! I love bigger prints, especially on fabrics. You can actually see the images! That being said, there is such a thing as too busy with big prints. I agree with cbreynolds that there needs to be white space (or other solid color) for your eye to fully appreciate the pattern.
The Williams Sonoma plates, for instance, are a little busy for me, but I ADORE the Marimekko tablecloth. Nice to see something from them other than pink and blue flowers.
