Could it be that during an economic meltdown, people just want to be more cozy? Why not give yourself a the furniture equivalent of a big HUG?
In the past few weeks, I've been noticing a surfeit of interest in beds with winged headboards (and a few chairs too) and want to venture that a new trend is on the rise. While winged headboards used to be definitely old school, Ralph Lauren affairs, these new ones play off of that old theme and are decidedly contemporary...

I didn't choose a winged headboard because of any trend...
...I chose it because an upholstered headboard is more comfortable to lean against while reading in bed - and the wings help keep my pile of pillows from falling off the sides of the bed while I thrash around at night.
I am in love with that chandelier.
I like the trend. I feel that just like fashion there are a limited number of trends and they will come around again when the circumstances are right.
I just ripped out a Ligne Roset ad that shows more of the same:

Yes, the chandelier is is fabulous.
where is the chandelier in the first photo from? i'm in love.
It's from Ochre in SoHo. I just went in there the other day because I am in love with their chandeliers too. I asked how much a far smaller version of the same fixture was and was aghast at the price of $25,000 - the small one was maybe 25" in diameter!!!
