A little while back the folks over at Ohdeedoh tipped us off to the newest marker in the Sharpie line. We've always appreciated their products, but this latest one had many great possibilities. Forget stenciling, you could draw your own design on sofas, curtains, or pillows. Here's the tested results of this cool new product:
Jessica over at How About Orange was recently sent a few of these markers to test out. She recently shared her results and we're rather impressed. Many fabric markers have crazy, insane bleed and unless you're writing your name on a camp or high school band t-shirt at the end of the school year, they had little place in our home.
Jessica shares that there's minimal bleed and that the colors are bright. The design in the photo above is her own and done in the markers. She cautions that the colors should be dry before writing over the top with a new color.
Are you going to give them a try? You could doodle your own curtains! Shower curtains, pillows, duvets, sheets, that old sofa from the college years — they're all possibilities! What would you like to try them out on? Let us know below!

Leave it to Sharpie to come up with the penultimate non-bleeding fabric marker. Right on, Sharpie. We love you more than ever now.
I had heard about these but couldn't decide if they were worth buying to give a try. Thanks for the review! Sounds like they're worth it!
Pillows!!! (kinda wish the colours were a little less, erm... VIBRANT)
These would be great for the pillowcases we used to give away for overnight programs when I worked at the aquarium...
I may just invest to start getting things down on fabric!
Has anyone tested how the colors hold up after washing?
Regular Sharpies hold up okay to a washing or two...
If they will consider colors for the tea stain effect...ooh boy!
I want some now..
ooooooo..... must order immediately
Pen... ultimate. I get it!
I use these markers for almost everything that is meaningful to write. I use the paint markers for my visual art ...and now fabric markers! What would the world be like without sharpies?!!?? Let's hope we never have to find out!
About four years ago I used a black Sharpie fabric marker to trace line drawings on the inside (room side) of a pair of curtains. It took about three years, but the marker faded from a pretty good black to almost totally invisible. That's obviously a sun thing, but I did heat set the bejeezus out of them and they were lined.
To boot, I found the end result looked like marker. That's not necessarily a problem, but if you're going for a pretty polished look on furniture or bedding, it's not the best way to go, even disregarding the fading. I've had better luck with other kinds of fabric inks and pens, like jacquard brand.
They're fun. Crafty. :)
This is very exciting! I was also wondering about the color options.
...and do they also come in ultra fine points? The combination of fine and ultra fine Sharpie lines adds exponential possibility.
Oh, I see they don't have points at all, but brush tips. Interesting...
