- What I Love About My Small Home:
- I love working green into everything I do, both as a color and as a lifestyle. Living in our small home puts limits on our things, motivates our green endeavors, encourages minimalism and exercises our creativity.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- Challenge #1: Carving out space for family living (work, play, entertaining) for a family of four in a 2-bedroom space. We overcame that by getting fresh perspective on layout, storing clothes in closets instead of dressers to make room for workspace, hanging a shelf behind the sofa to eliminate the need for a coffee or end tables, mounting the TV on the wall with shelf and storage ottomans underneath to make room for seating and hide toys away when not being plaid with. Challenge #2: being content with what we have. We do that by decluttering. We are forever editing our belongings, learning the art of refusing and remembering how much we have to be grateful for.

Where did you get the beige pintuck duvet in the kids' room?
Hey @aurorava --
Might not be the same one, but it looks pretty similar to this West Elm one.
I actually made the pin-tucked duvet.
Here's the tutorial:

@TrinaC --
My mistake -- but that's awesome! What a lovely job on the DIY.
Oh, no problem! I'm actually really glad it looks like it's from West Elm :)
There's also duvet that look like that one in other colors at Target. Nice place!
Beautiful space! I love the way you hung your guitars to keep them safe. What type of mount did you use? I want to do the same thing for my banjo.
A rare entry with young kids involved! Thank you for that!
The guitars are hung with String Swing guitar hangers.
I love your place Trina. I love your DIY skills too =)
Good idea to have the DVD player on a floating self so you can put stuff under it... I'm gonna have to remember that.
Also, the white chairs and dark wood table look so pretty together :)
Thank you!
