Although designers have made huge strides, as a parent of boys I find that choices in clothing and furnishings are still lacking. Looking for a lamp with a truck theme? How about a plain old lamp with a truck stuck on the base? I see that all too often. But Studio Job of the Netherlands has envisioned something a bit cooler.
They came up with this fantastic wrecking ball lamp that even grown ups will want for their own. If you like the construction theme, you'll be happy to know Studio Job has also designed a crane lamp. Unfortunately, these great lamps were commissioned pieces and there don't seem to be plans to sell them. But we still applaud the design effort.

You can take any large construction vehicle toy and convert it into a lamp. Check out some of the CAT and Bruder trucks.
I totally think someone could DIY this! You spray paint the vehicle black, and attach the light. It wouldn't look quite like this one, especially if that's light inside the windows that I see, but it would be close.
