Trufig Flush Mount Outlets and Home Theater Controls

Dwell on Design 2010

Though the primary focus at Dwell on Design was home furnishings, we were pleased to see a few exhibitors like Trufig showcasing solutions which address decor problems directly related to our home entertainment needs (we've reported on their products before, but this was our first time with them in-person). Trufig's display drew our weary eyes with a refreshing take on outlet, keypads, speakers, switches and data jacks, specifically their wall outlet display which was camouflaged to blend directly with the faux granite wall surface.Trufig's wall outlet used a near match finish to the surrounding walls, while also giving owners the option to place an outlet cover when the outlet isn't needed, completely hiding it from view. A suction cup was used during the presentation to quickly remove/exchange the covers, which would make us worried about losing the small tool in everyday practice, but the effect did leave us wondering why more electrical outlet manufacturers don't offer this sort of decor-friendly solution.

The majority of the Trufig booth was dedicated in showcasing their other plain white flush-mounted inset control or outlet solutions, which does require some involved planning and installation to get the invisible and flush effect. If you're looking for minimal presence while being able to integrate a variety of controls into your home theater or home office solution, you might want to check out Trufig's site. Admittedly the site doesn't really show how flat this system of products are, but the effect with drywall, plaster, wood or stone surfaces was remarkable in person.
