Shameful but true — I used to envy Candy Spelling for the gift wrapping room in her former L.A. mansion. It might not be green, but I love festive ribbons and pretty rolls of paper. Recently, in my efforts to mend my wasteful ways, I came across these stunning, compostable, DIY nature wraps from Justina Blakeney.
Blakeney created the wraps using leaves, flowers, and a bit of green artist's tape. This wrapping seems especially well suited to small, meaningful gifts, such as the vintage cufflinks you found your husband or the pretty necklace for your best friend. The botanical wrapping also isn't too holiday-specific — it's equally pretty for birthdays, hostess gifts, and any other gift-giving occasion you have on your calendar.

White Enamel Four-P...
That's gorgeous!
It reminds me of nacatamales (a type of Nicaraguan tamal). They are wrapped in plantain leaves and tied with twine or plantain leaf rope. The ones that have a chile added (some people can't tolerate the heat), will have a little ribbon made from the same plantain leaf to set it apart from the rest. They all look like little presents in the end. :-)

@anita83
haha, yeah seriously. My family is Guatemalan and they will probably think I'm giving them tamales as gifts.
Beautiful and creative! Any hints on flowers and leaves that can last a few days-week? I see some like the eucalyptus branch, chinese lanterns, bougainvillea, any other tips?
How unusual and pretty!
