I feel like this has a lot more potential beyond just being lazy embroidery, in that you could probably use the fact that it's wire to add additional components. It would be cool to sew in the lines of a constellation, and then adding little LEDs for the stars. Admittedly, I am not nearly enough of an electronics person to be able to visualize how that setup would actually look/if it would work, but it works perfectly in my imagination, so...

It's a thin, flexible cord that you can wrap around your bike and it lights up. The problem, of course, is that you can't shorten or lengthen it, so you'd have to plan your design carefully, Sure would be cool to have embroidery that lights up, though.
Um. Didn't we just all agree, on the "trends that suck" thread, that "quirky sayings for your home" need to be locked up in the attic and the key thrown away?
Embroidering with EL wire would be just about so awesome...
