I never thought I'd say it, but I'm all aboard the towel train (choo choo) because this terry cloth shower curtain inspiration is both green and eco-friendly!
These two terry cloth towels are stitched together down one long side and embellished with grommets at the top. This allows the pieces to act as a shower curtain and be open and closed, enabling them to dry out after use and keep your floor free from shower overflow.
It's a simple idea that can bring big color into your bathroom, and may even be an inexpensive way to fill the gap if you're in the process of looking for a new curtain. As an added bonus your curtain will also double as a killer beach blanket! Details over at Martha Stewart.

What you neglected to add was the fact she states, 'use a liner, as these shouldn't get too wet.' Bummer, too, since this seemed like a great alternative to having to use a liner.
I'd like to think that if you're going to ensure it's pulled out so it can dry and will wash it every few weeks, you might be able to get away without a liner? Could be an interesting experiment!
I guess I don't understand how this is any greener than an organic shower curtain
You know what's even more eco friendly? Just using a liner without the shower curtain.
agreed @herong
i agree with herong. especially if you can find one from recycled plastic, or an alternative.
you would have to wash the terry towels pretty often as they would trap moisture on the inside, which would lead to mold. So in essence you'd be waisting a lot more water washing them.
Ew.
