Do you have a board book laying around your house that's seen better days? Perhaps it has been colored in, spilled on, torn or Elmo's face is straight up gone. We all have one or two and although the idea of using a book as a craft project can make a librarian weak in the knees, we're all for this creative chalkboard project. Want to see what this book looks like now?
With a little sanding and base coating, this old board book was ready to take coats of chalkboard spray paint. It's a fun way to get the chalkboard look and feel without committing to coating an entire wall or piece of furniture.
Check out all the details to make this project yourself over at Whip Up.

Nomade Express Slee...
brilliant!
Now this is a good idea.
SUCH a great idea. Thanks for sharing it.
Great idea! Love chalk!
oh my gosh. this is great! I can't wait to try it!
I know it's been said, but again, brilliant!
and perfect for travelling.
Wonderful!
Love, love, love this idea! And I love the idea of the little prompts such as "draw a funny face." My little niece isn't always inspired when looking at a totally blank sheet of paper, but if she can decorate some mittens, leaves, a ball, or whatever (the outline or just the suggestions is on the page to start), then she goes to town!
my only concern is usually a board book is considered "tattered" is because more often little mouths have been nibbling away- I would hate for a little one to be mouthing this paint.
