Children's art desks can be extremely helpful in small spaces, but retail versions are often made from plastic and have bulky legs while the bean bag variety always seems to slide off little legs. Check out this diy version that's made from a cabinet door:
This small desk started out as a few unassuming doors which quickly received a backing, legs and a coat of spray paint to brighten things up a bit. The top was decopauged to make things even more lively and now it's the perfect space for little ones to get creative.
The main door has a hinge (and catch so no shutting on small fingers) to hold paper inside and the small door can hold writing utensils inside and out. Although not specifically intended for small spaces, the legs on this project would be easy to remove, thus allowing it to be stored in super slim spots.
