All Carissa wanted was a travel mug that had a lid and a straw and wasn't made of plastic. That sounds like it should be a relatively easy find in this day and age with all of the eco-friendly products around.

But she had no luck, so instead she made her own complete with a grommeted lid and metal straw. Want to see how she made it?

This simple glass jar has received quite the transformation since it once held spaghetti inside. First, the lid was painted and drilled through to receive a grommet to hold a straw. A metal straw fits perfectly inside and some paint embellishments were added to the outside.

Carissa gives a great tutorial for all these steps including several products you might not have used before so make sure to stop by and check things out. This is a great reminder that just because we're in the age of the internet and you think you should be able to find everything you need — sometimes you just have to do it yourself.
