While companies are developing light bulbs that can get a party started right
, one creative hacker figured out how to turn a simple Ikea floor lamp into a mini speaker.
Robert Kortenoeven and Yasmina Haryono of, We Live Like This
, posted about their quick hack, which involves a pair of old speaker components from a Philips TV, an amplifier from a set of broken PC speakers, and a couple of standard Ikea floor lamps.
The speaker and amp sit in the bulb socket so that a lamp shade can still be used to hide the components. Now if only he could figure out a way to incorporate a light bulb in the mix and he'd have a truly multifunctional piece of awesomeness. Don't get us wrong. We're still totally impressed with this hack; it would just take us some time to remember that our lamps only pump out jams, not light.
