I think the design is great.
The issue wont be the design, but the software/UI. My guess is that it will be a skin over win7 that will probably be frustrated to use.
seems like a good idea but also seems like something that will have a good chance of breaking.
add int the weight of the rest of the laptop and the pricetag that will probably be on it.
As long as they don't cheap out on the hinge for the pivot, and the overall build in regards to it, the design will be awesome. I like it way better than the current convertible hinge designs.
As far as UI Win7 for tablets works well enough. The only real problem windows has had in past years with tablets is the keyboard, but in this case you already have one. Plus I am sure with the uptick in slate and slate competitive products Microsoft will finally get around to tweaking their respective UI. After the death of origami I think they slacked a lot on alternative smff and touch stuff.
My only worry is how fat it looks. It's huge! Everything else looks awesome. I'd buy one.
The thickness itself would make it difficult to use as a tablet. Why not chose one design and run with it instead of trying to do both half-heartedly? Jose is right, it is the OS that will ultimately matter.
