Some kids collect rocks, others stamps, while others are more into crawly things&helliplike ants. The downfall to having something like an ant collection to study is that the container isn't exactly attractive. Although that's not really the point, it can't help to dress it up a bit can it?
Hugh Hayden & Katie Vitale's Frameicariums are quite stunning works of art... once you can get past the fact that they're living, breathing colonies of ants — on your wall — ants on your wall!
Vintage frames and in many cases, the original prints, are used in these beautiful little ant homes. Sometimes the trails are lit making things all aglow. The results are stunning and we're rather curious, how come no one made an ant farm look this good before?
Even if you're not big into the whole ants on your wall thing, we still like the look of sand over the top of a nature-based print. Like an Etch-a-Sketch of sorts. Could be something to ponder and try out. Make sure to send us pictures if you do!
